The Showcase: Nike LeBron 9 “Black History Month”

Many slept on the Black History Month collection mainly because there was so much heat dropping around that time. Not to mention that the All-Star Galaxy theme was just around the corner. The Nike LeBron 9 BHM is inspired by the vibrant colors of International African culture, drawing visual cues from Kenyan beads, to the Brazilian Carnivale, to African-American quilt making which originated in the southern United States. It’s a very unique style. Also, it’s the first time Nike included a LeBron shoe as a part of the Black History Month collection.

Closer Look at James’ Nike LeBron 9 MVP Player Exclusive

After receiving his third NBA Most Valuable Player award prior last night’s game it was fitting for LeBron James to celebrate by wearing a personalized version of his regular season shoes – Nike LeBron 9. James wore his Miami Heat themed sneakers in the first half and scored only 6 points, but then he switched back to the Elite version for the second half when he did much more damage with 26 points to end up with 32 for the game. LBJ’s version of the MVP colorway is slightly different from the production version that was unveiled by Nike. His Player Exclusive comes with a gold MVP plate instead of Yellow on the back of the shoe. More detailed photos after the break.

Closer Look at Nike LeBron 9 P.S. Elite in Varsity Maize / Black

As the NBA Playoffs begin to get underway next weekend, LeBron James will be breaking out his most expensive sneaker yet in the $250 Nike LeBron 9 Elite. With a sizable carbon fiber support wing along the upper and helpings of Kevlar support cables throughout, James, designer Jason Petrie and the Nike Basketball team are hoping that the 9 Elite will also be the shoe he will finally win his very first championship in. While he’ll be rocking both white and black base versions of the shoe with gold accenting, and perhaps an all red PE for a game or two, we most likely won’t be seeing him in this colorway launching next May. “Unfortunately, I don?t think Riles is going to let them wear the yellow,” sighs Petrie. But will you be coping on May 12th, 2012?

On Friday, when detailed photos surfaced the Internet, sneaker blogs already accepted the Bubblicious nickname for this Vivid Orange & Cherry colorway of the Nike LeBron 9 Low. However, the designer of LeBron’s shoes, Jason Petrie, twitted a different take “Y’all are killin me with this bubblicious stuff! Lol #crazynicknames”. Turns out we were all wrong. Fortunately, there’s a new explanation for this special make up and if you check out the new photos it kind of makes more sense. This season, the Miami Heat pay tribute to the American Basketball Association by wearing 1971-72 Miami Floridians throwback uniforms in select games. LeBron James got his own LeBron 9 Player Exclusive, but fans will get a special version of the Nike LeBron 9 Low. New photos unveil new details including a nice looking translucent outsole with LBJ’s signature lionhead logo. They come out on May 5thLebron 9 Low "floridians"

nike lebron 9 svsm home away available on ebay

Unlike like the last year when the SVSM PEs of the Nike LeBron 8 gathered some serious momentum, especially with the St. Vincent-St. Mary High School winning the state championship, this season they’re just like their play – mediocre. Still, I’m sure some of you would like to get a chance to cop these sneakers. Unfortunately Nike has stopped releasing SVSM kicks to public. Their last release was the Zoom Soldier IV. If you’re looking for a pair, private collectors or eBay are the way to go. Here’s a detailed look at both Home and Away colorways of the Nike LeBron 9 SVSM, which can be found on eBay.
